Governmental Structure of Our Church
Grace Church is governed by Elders, who provide spiritual oversight and overall direction for the operation of the church. The Elders' primary responsibilities include pastoral care (shepherding), prayer, the preaching and teaching of the Word, and exercising church discipline.
The Staff, working under the oversight of the Elders, serves in conjunction with them to oversee the spiritual care of the congregation. They are also responsible for the daily operation of church ministries including such specific areas as the church office, Christian Education, Youth Ministry, Worship, Shepherding, events, and activities.
The Deacons, under the supervision and authority of the Elders, function as servant-leaders. They are responsible for areas such as managing church finances, overseeing benevolence ministry, building and grounds upkeep, overseeing preparations and logistics for the weekly worship service, and some special events. The Deacons are appointed by the Elders.
